Blue and white delicacies: Eat like Hertha

Eat like Hertha is the name of the ‘Old Lady’s’ brand new cookbook. But what does football have to do with cooking? Well, the intro offers a simple explanation: if you want to be successful on the pitch or in the kitchen then you don’t just need talent and training but also a lot of enthusiasm and dedication. Makes sense, right?

You get a real taste of the Hertha team spirit with this cookbook. In addition to the recipes loved by the club’s management and staff, the book also contains nutrition tips from a number of our players, including Rune Jarstein, Salomon Kalou and Vedadd Ibisevic, as well our very own eSport Hulk Elias Nerlich. Moreover, the cooking connoisseurs share with us a bit about their personal relationship with food.

In creating the Hertha cookbook, head chefs Oliver Müller and Frank Zorn placed a particular emphasis on promoting a healthy attitude towards food. For them, that means taking time to enjoy your food, using healthy ingredients and sharing your culinary creations with others.

This healthy and natural form of nutrition is lost all too often in the stress of everyday life. The book Eat like Hertha will help you to slow down the process of cooking and turn it into an enjoyable experience. It’s an important part of maintaining your quality of life because a healthy diet combined with an active everyday lifestyle makes you feel more balanced and healthy.

Eating too much fat, salt and sugar and eating at irregular intervals can cause both short and long-term health problems. As well as headaches, indigestion and fatigue, poor nutrition can have more serious consequences, such as cardiovascular disease, dyslipidemia and diabetes.

The Hertha cookbook shows that healthy eating is all about your attitude towards food and showing that, as long as you stay balanced, there is nothing wrong with treating yourself.

Bon appétit, Herthaner!
